Raised by godly parents in a Christian home, I was homeschooled, much to the chagrin of many extended family members. I went to a hyper-Fundamentalist Baptist church college, Temple Baptist University in Westlake, LA, now defunct. There I learned to be better than everyone else. I learned that my standing with God was based upon what I did, which Bible I read, the people I associated with, and what clothes I wore.
When the Lord saw fit to move me on,I married my sweet wife. We moved to Indiana, after a brief stint in my home state of NY. After a few years, God led us to His Doctrines of Grace. He taught us to remember how unworthy of His Goodness we were. He reminded us that we were no better than anyone else. He showed us that all the things that had occurred through our life was by His hand, in His purpose, for His glory. He led us to a new church that believes like us, and people to fellowship with of like mind and like purpose.
The greatest thing for me is the knowledge that it is not what I do, but what He did for me that makes me right with God. It is not who I know, but He Who knows me.

The Wholehearted Man
Last evening, Pastor Bob brought us a message based on Joshua 14:6-9. A real blessing, it gave the impetus to start this blog. Three simple points follow:
The Wholehearted Man...
1. Follows God in Difficult Duties (Genesis 22)
2. Follows God When He Sees No Other Reason Than the Bare Command of God (1 Samuel 15:22)
3. Follows God Fully Even When He is All Alone (2 Timothy 4:16-18)
